WWF-VIỆT NAM ĐẠP XE ỦNG HỘ GIỜ TRÁI ĐẤT 2012
Sau ba năm liên tiếp đứng ra tổ chức chiến dịch Giờ Trái đất, năm nay WWF-Việt Nam đã chuyển giao việc thực hiện chiến dịch cho Bộ Công Thương và các tổ chức, cộng đồng trên toàn quốc. Một trong những hoạt động sôi nổi mà WWF-Việt Nam tiến hành cho cán bộ nhân viên để hưởng ứng Giờ Trái dất 2012 là đạp xe tại Hà Nội và Huế vào ngày Chủ Nhật vừa qua, 18 tháng Ba năm 2012.
Dù thời tiết diễn ra không thuận lợi do mưa phùn nhưng không vì thế mà làm giảm bớt sự hào hứng của những người tham gia. Từ 8h30 sáng các cán bộ nhân viên của WWF-Việt Nam đã tập trung trước Nhà Hát Lớn để chuẩn bị đạp xe. Ngoài ra chương trình còn thu hút sự hưởng ứng của 30 cán bộ nhân viên Tập đoàn Điện lực Việt Nam (EVN), một số tổ chức UN và hàng trăm các bạn học sinh, sinh viên đến từ các trường đại học. Đặc biệt tham gia đạp xe còn có người thân của cán bộ WWF-Việt Nam và UN như chồng, vợ, con. Một số cháu nhỏ 3 đến 5 tuổi cũng háo hức tham gia ngồi sau xe đạp của bố mẹ.....
Xuất phát từ Nhà hát lớn, đoàn đã đạp xe qua các tuyến đường trung tâm như Tràng Tiền - Bà Triệu - Thái Phiên - Phố Huế - Đinh Tiên Hoàng - Hàng Đào - Hàng Ngang - Hàng Đậu - Yên Phụ - Thanh Niên - Hùng Vương - Lê Hồng Phong - Điện Biên Phủ và kết thúc hành trình tại vườn hoa Lê Nin. Đoàn đạp xe lựa chọn cung đường này để đi qua các địa điểm nổi tiếng của thủ đô như Tượng đài Lý Thái Tổ, con đường gốm sứ, Lăng chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh, Cột cờ Hà Nội, vườn hoa Lê Nin và các khu phố cổ tập trung đông dân cư nhằm thu hút công chúng…

Tại Huế, mặc dù trời nắng gắt, tập thể cán bộ văn phòng WWF-Việt Nam đã nhiệt tình tham gia đạp xe trong không khí thân thiện vui vẻ. Tham gia đap xe ở Huế có tất cả 39 người, trong đó thành viên cao tuổi nhất là bác Trần Hữu Banh, 70 tuổi còn thành viên "nhí" bé nhất - 3 tuổi - là cháu Thái Minh Kiệt, con của một cán bộ trong văn phòng. Đặc biệt đoàn đạp xe còn có sự tham gia của 3 cán bộ Chi cục Kiểm lâm Thừa Thiên Huế và đã được Đài Truyền hình THH ghi hình và phát sóng trong bản tin thời sự tối. Đoàn đã di qua các địa danh của Huế như Cầu Tràng Tiền, cầu Phú Xuân, chợ Đông Ba, Đại Nội, Phu Văn Lâu, Trường Quốc học Huế, Trung tâm Văn hóa Thông tin Tỉnh ....

Vietnam to merge two major mobile operators: report
State-run Vinaphone and MobiFone, which together hold the majority of subscriptions in Vietnam’s mobile phone market, are to be merged as part of a restructuring process, senior industry officials were quoted as saying on Tuesday.Another VNPT official, Deputy General Director Phan Hoang Duc, confirmed the merger with online news website Kien Thuc (bee.net.vn).
Vinh, who also heads Vinaphone, and Duc were not immediately available for comment, but a VNPT official said merging the two networks was a policy of the group.
The move comes as Vietnam’s state-owned companies are restructured to consolidate strength and seek business expansion.
VNPT, which runs Vinaphone and MobiFone, does not publish business results or market share breakdowns, but Vinaphone and MobiFone, two of three domestic service providers, together control more than half of the domestic mobile phone market.
Vietnam had 134.2 million phone users at the end of February, up 3.6 percent from a year earlier, of which mobile phone users grew 4.3 percent from a year earlier to 119 million, government statistics show.
Net revenue from the post and telecoms sectors at the end of last month jumped 21.4 percent from a year earlier to VND22.1 trillion (US$1.06 billion), following annual revenue growth of 19.3 percent in 2011 to $8.03 billion, the government has said.
VNPT said on its website that revenue last year rose more than 20 percent from 2010 to VND120 trillion, more than 70 percent of the sector’s total.
